Blurheads in Disneyland

Digital Inkjet Prints, 44” x 64”, 2012.

Description

Blurheads In Disneyland is a series of photographs, taken via Google Street View, of the inside of Disneyland Resort Paris. In the photos, the Google algorithm has blurred out the faces of humans -- making them less real than the fictitious characters they’re posing with or the artificial landscapes they’re standing behind. In a desire for increased visibility, the lines between reality and illusion elide, and what is real becomes blurrier than the fake landscapes and characters that surround.
