Dec 9 - 13 — Residency at the Media Archeology Lab (MAL), University of Colorado, Boulder. I'll be working on a new video series on the rituals of 'unboxing' technological devices.

Nov 14 - 15 — MoneyLab #7: Outside of Finance, Tolhuistuin, Amsterdam. My collective's video work, The Insufferable Whiteness of Being, will screen at the seventh edition of MoneyLab, which considers feminist economics, social payments, corporate crime, and the "blokechain."

Nov 1 - 15 — Digital Art Festival Die Digitale 2019, NRW Forum Düsseldorf, Düsseldorf, Germany. My work, "Unpatentable Multitouch Aerobics" will be presented and performed by a local German artist (who I have trained by Skype!) at the fourth annual festival for digital art.

Nov 7 - 9 — Society for Literature, Science, and the Arts (SLSA) 2019, University of California, Irvine. I will be presenting two papers: "Eternal Boy Playground: an artistic critique of cryptocurrency and cryptocolonialism,” about my work as Anxious to Make; and "Conceptual Currency Generator," the results of my work with the studio, Patient Instruments, as part of a grant from the University of California Humanities Research Institute (UCHRI).

Sep 20 - Nov 10 — Border Control Exhibition, Stamps Gallery, Ann Arbor, MI. My collective Anxious to Make's video, "The Insufferable Whiteness of Being" has been curated into this exhibition by Allison Collings, Media Arts Curator at Western Front. Gallery hours are Tue-Sat, 11am-5pm (open until 7pm on Thu + Fri).

Sep 20 - 23, 2019 — The Zapatista Wi-Fi Rebellion, NAVEL, Los Angeles, CA. My collective Anxious to Make will be exhibiting our video, Work Work Work, in this exhibition and program that activates audiences around rebellious internet usage in corporate imperial cyberspace. The Zapatista Wi-Fi Rebellion is the third installment in NAVEL's ongoing series, The New Internet Commons.

Sep 19 - 22, 2019 — Border Control: New Media Caucus Symposium, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. I'll be co-organizing and speaking on a panel titled "Interface as Border / Interface as Control" about some thoughts on automation in commerce sector, and how it affects bodies, space, and attitudes towards labor.

Jul 11 - 14, 2019 — Vector Festival 2019, Toronto, Canada. My collective Anxious to Make's video, "The Insufferable Whiteness of Being", will screen at this year's festival dedicated to showcasing digital games and creative media practices. More information forthcoming.

Jun 17 - 19, 2019 — Education, Design, and Practice Conference, Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ. I will be giving a lecture on teaching code to non-coders titled “Paper Algorithms: A Conceptual Entry into Programming for Artists.”

Jun 7 - 23, 2019 — Currents New Media 2019, Santa Fe, NM. My video Liat Berdugo + Emily Martinez as Five Twins will be exhibited at this annual festival of media arts, digital performance, and interactive installation in venues across the city.

May 24 - Jun 9, 2019 — Fringe Arts Bath, Bath, UK. My video Liat Berdugo + Emily Martinez as Five Twins will be exhibited at this two-week festival of contemporary visual art, in the exhibition titled "Self".

May 17, 2019 — The 60 Second Film Festival, San Francisco, CA. A *very short* video art piece of mine will screen as an official selection of this year's festival from 7-10pm at Marina Theatre, 2149 Chestnut Street, San Francisco, CA.

Apr 25 - 28, 2019 — We Like Our Size, Thank You at Common Field Convening, Philadelphia, PA. I'll be organizing a conversation about small art organizations, like the one I co-founded, that resist growth within capitalism. Folks from three other brilliant art organizations will be joining in for this conversation, including The Black Aesthetic, CTRL+SHFT, and the Processing Foundation.

Apr 18, 2019, 6-8pm — Hot Steam II at The MIT Museum, Cambridge, MA. I'll have not one, but *two* video works screened at this event curated by Cambridge Community Television: "Dolphin Accelerator" and "My iPhone is Everything, v. 14". The event is free and promises to offer video art investigating the magic of science, art, and technology. The screening is part of the larger Cambridge Science Festival.

Mar 22 - 24, 2019 — HANDS-ON: A Collective Haptic Perspective at Pancake House in Minneapolis, MN. My work called "Unpatentable Multitouch Aerobics," made in collaboration with Phoebe Osborne, will be part of this group exhibition exploring the impact of touch. Opening reception on Friday, March 22 at 7pm at 4553 S. 34th Ave, Minneapolis.

Feb 15 - Mar 15, 2019 — Self as Actor: Colonizing Identity at NeMe Arts Center in Limassol, Cyprus. My video Liat Berdugo + Emily Martinez as Five Twins will be exhibited in this show that considers the colonization of personal data online.

Feb 14 - Mar 7, 2019 — Who Does What?Drugo More, Rijeka (Croatia). “Who Does What?” (WDW?) is a show and a symposium that looks at how work is performed, delegated, outsourced, crowdsourced, transformed, destabilized, disguised, displaced, concealed and revealed, rejected and reclaimed. WDW? focuses on the present of work, a time in which work is as present as ever. I'll have work exhibited in the show; more details forthcoming.

Feb 13 - 16, 2019 — College Art Association Annual Conference, New York, NY. Together with others, I'll be organizing a series of events, panels, and workshops for the New Media Caucus.

Jan 26 - Feb 15, 2019 — EntanglementYards Gallery, Chicago, IL. My video Making You will be installed in this exhibition as part of Her Environment, an expanded new media series for feminine spectrum artists. Making You was created together with Emily Martinez as our collective Anxious to Make.

Dec 15, 2018 - Feb 5, 2019 — Anxious to Make solo show at Telematic Gallery, San Francisco, CA. My two-person art collective, Anxious to Make (Liat Berdugo + Emily Martinez) will be showing new work as a solo exhibition at this recently opened, black-box gallery. Opening reception: Dec 15, 6-9pm; Closing reception: Feb 2, 2019, 12-2 pm.

Nov 6 - 11, 2018 — NEoN Digital Arts Festival in Dundee, Scotland. My collective Anxious To Make’s video, Making You, will be screened in the Artists’ Shorts Screening Programme at this year’s festival. Free and open to the public.

Oct 5 - Nov 4, 2018 — California Walkscapes exhibition at Incline Gallery, San Francisco, CA. A video piece of mine featuring gig artists who walk for me for $5, Five Dollar Walk, will be in this exhibition curated by Astrid Kaemmerling. Opening reception: October 5th, 6-9pm.

Oct 18, 2018, 7pm — Place Talks at the Prelinger Library in San Francisco, CA. I'll be giving a talk called "A SITUATION: A Tree in Palestine" as part of the 5th season of this brilliant visual lecture series about place.

Sep-Oct, 2018 — Santa Fe Art Institute (SFAI)'s Truth & Reconciliation Residency. I'll be joining a cohort of over 60 different artists, art collaboratives, and art collectives who comprise the 2018-19 thematic residency in New Mexico. If you're in the Santa Fe area, join us for open studios on September 28th at 5:30pm.

Sep 13-Oct 7, 2018 — HIGHLIGHTS: RISD Thesis Books exhibition at the Sol Koffler Gallery in Providence, RI. My graduate thesis book will be featured in this exhibition of 37 recent Master’s thesis books that are exemplary both overall and for their “highlights”—particular qualities of research, writing, documentation, and design. The show accompanies the publication of the first Book of Thesis Books, a guide in which annotations illuminate the many virtues of each book (I'm in there somewhere!). The exhibition and book are curated and edited by Jen Liese. Opening September 13 from 7-9 pm, and then daily from 12-8pm.

Sep 20, 2018, 6-7:30pm — Santa Fe Art Institute Truth & Reconciliation launch event. I'll be speaking about my work on citizen videography and justice in the Middle East, together with fellow residents Sarah Cohen & Leonardo Rua, Lynnette Haozous, and community partner Dr. Rael-Gálvez.

Aug 4, 2018, 9pm,— OFF THE WALL Screening, Madison, WI. My Anxious to Make video, Liat Berdugo + Emily Martinez as Five Twins, will be showing in the first night of outdoor screenings at the Arts + Literature Laboratory. Screenings take place throughout the month of August.

Jul 13 - Aug 11, 2018 — The Face of the Earth, Espacio Pla Gallery, Buenos Aires. My video piece After Work | Four Futures will be exhibited together with 35 other videos in a show that reboots Eduardo Pla’s video installation Videomundo Virtual. (In case yr curious, Videomundo Virtual was an artistic production for the 50th anniversary of the UN in 1995, and featured a sphere-shaped structure with six TV sets.)

Jun 23 - 30, 2018 — ISEA2018 | the International Symposium on Electronic Art in Durban, South Africa. I had video work installed and spoke on a panel.

Jun 6, 2018, 3pm — The Living Room Light Exchange will put on a special event, "Automation Gone Awry," at CODAME's 2018 Art + Tech Festival.

May 24 - Jun 3, 2018 — Bad Video Art Festival at A3 Gallery in Moscow, Russia. My work has been proudly selected by curatorial duo Monakhova and Slashilin who study extreme forms of video art at the intersection of B-movies, cult, camp, and trash: bad videos.

May 18, 2018, 7:30pm — MediaLive 2018 at Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA). I'll be putting on a participatory performance called Internet Aerobics in a night of performances together with Faith Holland and Pinar Yoldas. More about the event here.

May 1, 2018 — UCHRI Technohumanities: Exploratory Workshop on Experimentation at Southern Exposure Gallery in San Francisco. I'll be joining scholars from across the arts, humanities, and sciences, from both inside and outside the academy in an exploratory workshop for interdisciplinary inquiry.

Mar 8 - 29, 2018 — Making Art / Making Community at the Vicki Myhren Gallery, Denver. I'll have three different works up in this group show about social practice art, humorous social critiques, and collaborative craft. Opening reception on March 8th from 5-8pm.

Mar 6, 2018, 6:30pm — Military Powerpoint Karaoke at the Internet Archive, presented in partnership with Charlie Macquarie. Headliners will be Rick Prelinger and Avery Trufelman, and the rest of the slides will be presented by y'all, the audience. See a side (slide) of our military that perhaps you don't normally see.

Feb 21 - 24, 2018 — College Art Association Conference, Los Angeles. I'll be speaking on the Committee on Intellectual Property’s session, “Copyright, Fair Use, and Their Limits” about appropriation as a tactic for creative practice.

Nov 30 - Dec 2, 2017 — Social Media & Social Order Conference, Oslo, Norway. I'll be presenting a paper on video cameras as the locus of surrogate conflicts in the Middle East.

Nov 16th, 2017, 7pm — Pro Arts Gallery, Oakland, CA. I spoke in a hybrid series that amplifies collaboration through a feminist lens, called “Let’s Talk.”

Oct 27 - 29, 2017 — Sonification — Audible Data Streams festival, Berlin, Germany. A special video tutorial version of Unpantentable Multitouch Aerobics was be screened and sonified by in this festival by Berlin-based artists in a project titled, “From Cloud to Fog — Sonification of Digital Traces.”

Oct 13, 2017, 11am — New Narratives Conference, UC Berkeley, CA. I spoke about my recent writings that are adjacent to capitalism on a panel on feminism and writing.

Oct 12, 2017, 5:30-7pm — Imagining America Conference, UC Davis, CA. I exhibited my collaborative project, “Freedom Instruments Toolkit,” which responds to the question: can we design freedom? This project was initiated as part of the YBCA Fellows Program.

Oct 2, 2017, 4pm — I gave a talk at UC Berkeley’s Jacobs Institute for Design Innovation’s invited lecture series.

Sep 19, 2017, 7pm — The Living Room Light Exchange, Oakland, CA. The new media salon series that I co-founded and co-curate launched its fourth season in SF Bay Area, and continues every 3rd Tuesday of the month.

Sep 12th, 7pm — LASER Talk, San Francisco, CA. I gave a talk that used smartphones to trace and smash together a bunch of my work, and consider technologies of visibility and power.

Aug 22, 2017 — "Spectral Power," an essay I wrote on how video cameras become the locus of a surrogate conflict over visual rights in the Middle East, was published in Real Life magazine.

July 7, 2017 — I had video work showing in Animator festival, an international animated film festival in Poznań, Poland this July. My video work was part of an hour-long curation of video poetry curated by Aya Karpinska.

June 24, 2017 — Precarious Life 2.0the solo show of my collaborative, Anxious to Make, opened at The Luminary in St. Louis.

May 2, 2017 — The Living Room Light Exchange Publication 2 was released with a launch party at The Thing Quarterly. I am both the Editor, and also a contributor to this book. It's available for purchase at E.M. Wolfman Bookstore in Oakland.

Jan 4, 2017 — KQED Arts featured my collaborative show at YBCA in San Francisco, CA. Bay Area architects Kelly Gregory and Brett Snyder and new media artist Liat Berdugo are on a creative quest to find answers to the question: “Can we design freedom?”

Nov 2016 — Side Gig, B4BEL4B Gallery, Oakland, CA. A solo show for Anxious to Make (my collaborative practice with Emily Martinez) took over the entire gallery and was featured in KQED Arts.

Jun 2016 — Print Screen Up Close. I gave an artist talk in this stream held in collaboration with Ars Electronica, the biggest art and technology festival in the world. Hosted by Michael Badics and Kathrin Meyer.

Jun 2016 — #relaxationmachine, Print Screen. I curated a special exhibition for Print Screen festival this year, asking: what is the relationship between technology and relaxation? This exhibition is made possible with a grant from Asylum Arts Foundation, and through partnerships with NewHive and the Yamaguchi Center for Arts + Media.

Jun 2016 — Unpatentable Multitouch Aerobics, FILTER#166SPEKTRUM, Berlin, Germany. I made a new aerobics tutorial for FILTER, a conceptual sound art series by ZONA DYNAMIC collective in Berlin. The collective tracked the aerobic movements of participants, and translated it into sound, creating an ongoing ritual and soundscape.

Jun 2016 — The Trouble with Remuneration, West Space, Melbourne, Australia. My work, The Original Zoom, appears alongside artists I admire, such as Chris Burden, in a show that explores the variety of ways in which artists and their work interact with capital.

Jun 2016 — I'd Swipe Right On Yr Metadata. I have a new essay out in conversation with the Transart Triennale on metadata and post-sovereign identity. When you get close to another, where is it that you end and someone else begins?

May 2016 — #18 Immersive Media, Lea + The Internet Podcast. I guest-host episode 18 of Lea Devon Sorrentino's podcast, Lea + The Internet. We dissect the impact of virtual reality and immersive media on our minds, hearts and bodies.
