Switch

Description
Situated firmly within the landscape of the home-lab, Switch is a body of 20 videos that shows electrical devices being controlled by tangible, mutable, and messy interfaces in place of slick, ergonomically-designed, or high-tech devices. But Switch is magic in its truest sense of the word: it is an illusion. The work of Switch exists where the gap of visual suggestion is filled by a viewer’s projection of technological fantasy. The word, “switch,” therefore, refers both to literal electrical switches as well as to the more subtle switch within a viewer’s perceptions of authenticity and falsity, revealing a willingness to believe in technology.
